OBJECTIVES​

  • To promote the cultural integration of immigrant communities living in Cuenca.
  • To improve knowledge of the rich cultural diversity of the city.
  • To aproach expats to the local characteristics of the language: quichuísmos, idioms and other variants useful for easy and practical communication in everyday´s life.
  • To provide quick and fun access to history, ecology and culture of Cuenca, and the meaning of art, customs, festivals, gastronomy and other topics that can facilitate a dialogue and mutual respect between cultures.

The forum is designed for:

    • Expats residing permanently or occasionally in Cuenca, or are thinking  on moving to  Cuenca.
    • Professionals and Technicians in the fields of tourism, gastronomy, culture and foreign affairs.
    • All people interest in the subject.

MODALITY

  • The FORUM has two relatively independet MODULES, with eleven Topics each.
  • Will be held from Monday to Thursday from 17h00 to 18h00 p.m.
  • Module 1: January 4 -January 21, 2021. Module 2: February 1 – February 19, 2021.
  •  The Forum is endorsed by the Faculty of Hospitality Sciences of the University of Cuenca, the Municipality of Cuenca, the House of Culture of Azuay, the Chamber of Tourism of Azuay and CAMMPUS.
  • A Diploma will be awarded to each user with the signatures of the representatives of the endorsing institutions.
  • The conferences will be carried out exclusively online by ZOOM. The sessions will be recorded on the personal platform of each user so that they can be reviewed at any time in case they cannot attend the class live.
  • The lectures will use photographs, video, multimedia texts and practical activities in order to achieve very deep information that is also fun and entertaining.
